Truffle Sweater

The simplicity of our Truffle Sweater makes it a perfect project for novice knitters who want to add a textured garment to their handmade wardrobe. The sweater is worked with three strands together throughout, and seamlessly top down in the round in Double seed stitch pattern. It begins with a ribbed neckband and continues in stitch pattern with raglan increases to the underarms. Sleeve stitches are then placed on hold to be worked after the body has been completed. Both body and sleeves end in ribbed edges. With novice knitters specifically in mind, we’ve included in the pattern a section that explains slightly more advanced techniques.

Yarn: 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino (110 m [120 yd] per 50 gr [1.8 oz]), worsted-weight yarn; 6 (6, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10) balls; and 2 strands of Soft Silk Mohair (225 m [246 yd] per 25 g [0.9 oz]), lace-weight yarn; 6 (7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10, 11) balls

Needles: 8 mm / US11 circular needles in 40 and 80 cm [16 and 32]" cable lengths, and 5 (5, 5, 5.5, 5.5, 5, 5, 5) mm / US8 (8, 8, 9, 9, 8, 8, 8) circular needle and double-pointed needles, in size to obtain gauge
Gauge: 13 sts and 20 rows = 10 cm [4"] in Double seed stitch pattern with 8 mm / US11 circular needle and with 1 strand of Heavy Merino and 2 strands of Soft Silk Mohair held together
