Olive's Ribbed Balaclava
-
Detail
Olive’s Ribbed Balaclava is worked from the top down in an elastic rib pattern and fits snugly without being too tight around the face. It is worked with 2 strands of Merino held together throughout, and both flat and in the round.
You start working the crown in the round before working back and forth to create the face opening. Work is later joined under the chin and continued in the round before it is once again divided, and front and back neck are finished separately back and forth. Finally, stitches are picked up around the face opening and the face band finished in rib.

Got mine in the wrong color and the tag says dry clean only which is a hassle for something I wear weekly the warmth is solid but not worth the care trouble for me

This balaclava fixed my constant issue of fogged goggles — the breathable yet warm fabric lets just enough moisture escape while blocking wind chill on early morning trail runs

Comfortable and warm but runs slightly small for my head size I sized up and it fits perfectly now the ribbed texture does help with grip and airflow

Great warmth and fit but took me two tries to get the right size the ribbed knit helps it hold shape better than flat-knit versions I’ve tried before

Finally found a balaclava that doesn’t itch or slide off mid-hike the authentic cotton-blend fabric feels soft against my skin and stays snug even with wind gusts up to 30 mph

Wore this balaclava during a snowboarding trip in Colorado and it kept my face warm without overheating the way cheaper ones do the ribbed texture adds just enough stretch to stay put while breathing easy
