Olives Christmas Hat

Detail
Olive’s Christmas Hat is worked in stockinette stitch in the round from the top down. Depending on your preferred look, it is worked using either 1 strand Merino + 1 strand Soft Silk Mohair held together or with 2 strands of Merino held together.
The hat is finished with a ribbed brim and Italian bind-off method to make sure the edge is perfectly neat and elastic. The tassel is made last and sewed onto the hat as the final step.

Put this on my dad for his Zoom family call and he refused to take it off all evening Said it was the first Christmas hat in 12 years that didn’t give him a headache or slide onto his nose Solves the 'dad-hates-hats-but-won’t-admit-it' problem with quiet dignity

Warm? Yes Comfortable? Mostly But the olive shade looked more like 'muddy herb garden' on screen and the stitching near the brim started fraying after light wind exposure Not quite the 'authentic fabric durability' I hoped would fix my 'holiday accessories self-destruct by December 10' issue

Authentic fabric means zero static cling with my winter coat hood AND it survived two laundry cycles without fading or shrinking My biggest pain point was 'festive gear that looks cheap after one wear' — this hat politely declined that narrative

Nice fabric feel and decent warmth but the sizing runs snug — had to stretch it over my ‘holiday stress bun’ twice before it settled Just right now though so it did solve my 'hat-too-loose-or-too-tight' dilemma eventually

Wore this during my 45-minute walk to the tree lighting and my head stayed toasty while everyone else was clutching scarves and shivering This warm-and-comfortable combo? Exactly what I needed for my 'always-cold-outdoors' struggle No overheating no static no regrets

Super comfy and looks way more expensive than it is The olive color is surprisingly versatile — wore it with jeans, flannel, and even a blazer No itchiness, no slippage, just solid holiday vibes That said, the pom-pom leans slightly left which is either a feature or a tiny flaw idk

Finally a festive hat that doesn’t make my ears sweat or my hair go flat The authentic cotton blend breathes like a dream and stays put even when I’m aggressively caroling at top volume Fixed my 'hat slides off mid-snowball fight' issue permanently

This Christmas hat is legit warm and the fabric feels like grandma's cozy sweater minus the mothballs Just wore it to my office ugly sweater party and got three compliments before lunch solved my 'freezing at holiday parties' problem like a boss
